New Vintage Yamaha FG Website!!!

Wow.  Very nice looking site!  You're pretty darn good at that! 

NAAAAAAH!!! The host provides WordPress with thousands of templates. It sounded easy but it's definitely been a learning experience. Lots of settings. You have to create your own graphics at a specific size, like the fretboard of my FG-300. The templates have Live Previews that uses your data to see how your page would look with it, minus any graphics. The real hard part was sorting thru hundreds of pages to pick a few to try.

Just getting the site live on my domain was an experience! I read you should buy your domain thru an authorized reseller to know you have control over it, vs. the host "selling" it to you, not knowing who actually controls it. When I started building the page they said it would be hosted on a temporary domain and would be moved over when it was done. But the never said how or when!! I started a chat and he sent me the IP address of the server and said my domain provider had to fix it. I chatted with Google and they walked me thru how to do it. I also bought vintageyamahafg.com, for the people who got it backwards, so I had him walk me thru setting up the redirection. Then I chatted with the hosting company again and he walked me thru changing it to my domain. BUT, it still didn't work! He did something and it worked. 2 hours and 3 long chats to get it fixed!! But it's done.

Overall it's been a good experience.

Playing guitar??!!  I haven't done that in days!!  I also haven't done anything to fix any.  Too many distractions.  I think I spend too much time PLANNING what to do!!

Thanks!  It seems there were a few YamahaNut's like myself on the AGF but most of them haven't posted in 3 or 4 years.  I've tried to contact them with no response.

The AGF is the largest collection of guitar people.  A great place to find information.  Unfortunately the AGF staff won't allow me to post links to my site because it contains links to my "competing" forum.  I can't even mention that I have a forum.  They've made it known that they're doing me a major favor by letting me post that one thread looking for serial numbers.  It seems they think I'm somehow screwing them out of money.  I thought forums were to share information.  That's what I made mine for.  So I have to tread lightly over there.

Hi, I was looking around out of curiosity the other day and was surprised by something I had come across. Back in the mid nineties I bought a Yamaha guitar as an inexpensive guitar to use at clubs and venues I didn’t really want to take my high end instruments to for safety and security reasons. Well the music store owner knew me and knew I liked Yamahas and after showing me several models on the floor went in the back of the store and brought out this one I ended up purchasing. He said it was special which I figured was a sales ploy but it sounded good and he made me a hell of a deal on it so I bought it. It is an FG 30LTD red label. A reproduction of the fg180. Apparently which I don’t know how true it is but they only shipped like 30 of them to the US??? Sounds a little hokey to me but what ever. I’m just trying to see if that is factual or not. Not that I’ll ever part with the instrument as it’s become an integral part of my music and I like it. But if true it won’t be my campfire guitar either anymore! Anyone add anything to this to enlighten me?
