Is this a good idea

I like the nylon strings on a banjo. I have an old S.S. Stewart with nylon strings and am working on an R.S. Williams that will have nylon strings when it's finished.
Banjos originally had gut strings which are very similar sounding.

An old time banjer player was asked, "What is that little peg sticking out the side of your banjo neck?"
He answered, "Well, in the old days if you wanted to build a banjer, you'd shoot a ground hog. You stretch the skin and that makes your banjer head, and then you use the guts for the strings and there's just enough guts in the average ground hog to make four and a half strings."

Don't pay any attention to the anti-banjo group Derick . There are folks who are anti every instrument, including guitars.
I own a few squeeze boxes as well. I have a piano accordion, a button accordion and an English concertina, all of which I've been neglecting lately.
