Tuesday we had our monthly gig at the Nursing Home.
I noticed a "new" guy in a wheel chain when we came in.
After our "show" I went around thanking folks for coming out and shaking hands.
When I shook his hand I told him we would be back next month and I hoped to see him again.
He said; "well at my age I can't make any promises." and laughed.
I said I'll do my best to be back in a month if you'll do your best to be here too.
He asked me how old I thought he was and I told him 60 -62...
He answered he was 90 and that he would be married 70 years next month!
He seemed rather proud of both those statements.
My wife told me on the way home, he sang every song with us.
That old man seemed to be in pretty fair shape for his age, but he also knew that nothing was guaranteed. Seems like I'm the fool to just expect to be back in a month.
He got me thinking and that line from a Eagles song came to mind. We might even add it next month.
BTW the AJ45 sounded great.
