So, it is going back...

In the early sixties I attended a workshop put on by Eric Hoard, Ian & Sylvia's accompanist. He had a cliplike on a dog leash on one end of his strap and an eye bolt on the bass side of the heel. Very few guitar players fastened their guitars at the heel in those days.
I did this on my first guitar, a Goya M-26. I still have the strap with the clip. Maggie says I never throw anything away.
Pete Seeger also used the eye bolt to fasten his banjo strap.

You can't see where the strap fastens, but this is the only photo of Eric that I could find. Two Martin dreadnoughts with Hamilton capos.

Well, ok - but, it is not connected to anything in there...and there is a small crack in the back, located between the prongs...

Are there other parts for a Tone Wood amp?

Shouldn't the seller have disclosed that? 🤔

I have spoken with the seller. He is offering me a $100 refund to keep the guitar, or send it back at my expense for a refund - of the $465, not the original $35 shipping. If I keep it, I'll have paid $365 plus $35 shipping - $400 total. If I keep it, and don't want it, I wonder if I could sell it for more than $400? The only issue is the errant screw hole - there is no crack, just a fine scratch - I will remove the Tone Wood amp part, assuming it is removable...

Thoughts?

Because he too easily offered a 100 bucks off for you to keep it. This tells me things.

Also, it is clear that the guitar was "not as advertised." If the seller was so willing to not be up front and honest about things that are easily seen and found, what else are they not being up front and honest about that you cannot easily see or find?

Thirdly, if you end up getting stuck with the guitar, well, it's just going to be a bad experience all around, or at least leave a bad taste in your mouth about the whole experience, possibly tarnishing the ability to truly be satisfied with the guitar.

I'd rather be out just the 35 bucks and chalk it up to experience than possibly be stuck with this guitar and the headache or hassle of having it.

Again, this is just my 2 cents and what I would do.

I took it to a small local place today to have it looked at - The Guitar Workshoppe in Stuart. He looked it over, played it a bit and, after describing the situation to him, he said "take the $100 back, keep the guitar, and run"... 🤔😁
I'm going to change the strings out and see what she sounds like with new strings. I think I'll keep it... 😲

I would love to add a 12-string into the flock one day but just haven't come across a guitar or a deal on said guitar that has grabbed me yet. But, I'm always open to the possibilities!
