No, this is not a rant about how people substitute the word "want" for "need" these days. LOL.
No, what I'm actually curious about is how many guitars do you have that you need for whatever reasons vs how many you have just because you want to have them.
Lemme esplain.
The reason I ask this is because recently, after 2 years and change of running the entire music ministry at my church myself, I finally got the help I had been praying for. I'm doing other things in the church now, not playing in a band at all, for a nice season of rest at least, and enjoying sort of "having my life" back again. lol. (it was like working 2 jobs. LOL Not that I didn't love it though).
Anyways, I noticed lately when I go to grab a guitar my mindset has really changed. Before, I would always consider the next upcoming "music situation" (am I going to be playing solo or am I going to have instruments with me, and if so, how many and which ones....etc). Eg. My dread is more for when I'm solo, my GA for full band situations, and my folk for travel, practice and certain times when I don't have a full band, but maybe just the bass player with me.
Now, I don't automatically pick the instrument that goes with the "situation." Now, it takes me longer to pick one cuz I love them all equally so sometimes I just stand there going, "Hmmm, which one do I want to play?" LOL.
This made me realize that I not only had 3 guitars for different purposes, but I also have 3 guitars that I still "want" (to play) equally. It's just weird now trying to pick one. (good weird though!)
So again, the actual question is: how many guitars do you have that you truly "want" and how many do you have because you "need" them and is there (I'm sure there is!) any crossover between them?
