Wow, I can't decide which is weirder, that I watched a long video that showed a guy changing some guitar strings, and only that, or that after a lot of string changes over the years I actually picked up some good tips! Thanks guys, appreciate the tips. And TonyK, your text explanation was just fine. Also, decided my life wouldn't be complete without one of those cool powered string winders so I bought an attachment that fits on to my power screwdriver. Ya, I know, kind of silly but it was on ebay and it was cheap and it will finally allow me to find a use for a power screwdriver.

jamesM, the video that Derick, posted is a very good one. That's almost exactly how I stretch my strings. The only difference is, (his way probably works better than mine maybe) I don't stretch them when I've tuned them up to full pitch. I do my stretching when they're below full pitch. But otherwise, the guy is SO right. Once you do this, you don't have to worry, you're good to go.

He also made a very good, quick point of saying how not to stretch them as well. Very important. The guy knows his stuff.

i umm..you aren't goona like this..
i pick up the guitar by all the strings at the soundhole, retune and repeat....pick up a string at a time, retune and repeat.
