All that for 500 bucks?     Nice.    Here, the Radial DI alone would run you about 225 bucks last time I checked.  And they're "domestic" here (Radial is a Canadian company).  Not bad at all for all that.

I only have 2 pedals on my board: 1 Radial PZ DI and 1 Keeley Caverns Reverb/Delay.

Would like to maybe add a compressor/overdrive down the line if there is such a thing, but I haven't seen one yet.

I designed a custom pedal board and had it cut out of acrylic.  It's designed to hold 3 pedals (or 4 - 5 if some are the "skinny" ones) cuz that's all I'll ever want.  I'm not into complication.  lol.  The 3rd pedal is still in contemplation as stated above.

On the board we have:
- Radial PZ Delxue pre amp with 4 band eq, mute, and boost
- EHX Neo Clone chorus
- TC HOF reverb
- Digitech polyphonic stomp tuner
- Power supply and plug strip for pedals/amps etc



I must say, I'm very happy with it. Still getting used to all those reverb settings and finding out which I like best. The Neo clone sounds best at about 1/3 in the low setting

Been looking for a peddle that would make me sound like Chet.

Only pedal I use with my acoustic is a Boss TU-2 tuner...

The Neo Clone Chorus I think needs to go. I'm not using it much, and it pops when I turn it on. A bit disappointing. And if I get the EQ, there is not enough space on the board. My guitar is naturally very midsy, so turning OFF the EQ should give a nice mid range lift when needed. I have a light Reverb set at the desk, and then use a moderate Hall Reverb for picking

So chain will be:

Tuner/Mute - Spark boost - 6 band EQ - HOF Reverb - Passive Radial DI.

Nice and simple.

Hey Tony, I reckon that's 4 pedals- LOL!

I am keeping the PZ deluxe just in case. It has served me well, and obviously designed for a Piezo circuit, which is handy for an acoustic DI.

With the Baggs Anthem I have no EQ on the guitar and so I'm going to need to invest in an EQ pedal. All this may be overkill, but ah well, it's fun to experiment and the sound guy is loving it because he doesn't need to deal with so much gain with anthem and Tonebone preamps together. Switching to the Passive Pro DI means it's only the Anthem preamp working. Sounds pretty good but a bit bass heavy, so definitely some work to be done on the settings.

I'm not a big fan of compression for acoustic, much to the disgust of my band mate who compresses everything into oblivion. Instead, I like to use the clean boost when picking and then I turn it off when strumming. He says I'm a control freak. But he's also a sound guy. So I reckon he's the control freak, because he's trying to eliminate dynamics.

We get on fine, each to their own 😉👍 And I completely understand why you would want to use compression if you want to keep things super simple and just "plug and play". It makes a lot of sense. But for me there's just something about hitting a clean boost mid song that I enjoy. I don't know why. It feels like I engage something that makes me enjoy the song more ( weird I know).

But yeh, simple is good for acoustic. No more chorus for me. I'm done with the fake 12 string sound. I'll get a 12 string if I need that sound.
