countryblues75 , those Seagulls are a little pricier in Europe I guess. Musicians Friend (granted, it's a "Black Friday" special, has $399 USD price today. That's a dread, not an MJ...... For comparison, I paid $500 7 years ago for a Maritime HG dread 7 years ago, on top of a trade of a Washburn 12 string dread......The price in the shop was $699. That's USD.....and 7 years ago.
Yes, guitars are surely pricier here than in the US. I used to have a SWS Maritime SG dreadnought that i paid € 700 three years ago (it was new, without electronics). Last Christmas I got a deal on a Coastline S6 Cedar GT (probably new old stock, because that model is out of production): i paid € 300 for it and, by the way, i much prefer it to the all solid SWS dreadnought. Nowadays in Europe the Seagull S6 without electronics sells for about € 470/500, that means it is way out of the "starter guitar" zone (Yamaha fg 800 sells for € 200 and is much easier to find in a local shop).
