Will try it out later today. As expected, boomy when used on amp. But I doubt is was intended for live amplified work. I'm pretty sure it was designed for recording. I will try to record something with it. It cannot be worse than the condenser lapel mic I used for years.
Phone plug, preamp (vol only) and mic soundhole brace are all one unit...so are a bit unwieldy. preamp uses a 2032 button battery to drive the preamp. The mic sits in sound hole about an inch below guitar top, aimed towards neck when wire is exiting below strings. I think i would have preferred to be able to turn the mic off axis. That is not possible with this design.
I finally got around to testing this out... after a hour of twiddling with it in my DAW, I gave up in frustration; I could not get rid of the boom/rattle on 6th string. It seems the problem is the microphone itself and not the mounting.
My old lapel mic that I used to record with was way better and it was just clipped to edge of soundhole.
