I have never had a "lever-out" style capo. And not having, seems to have been a good choice.
Some other lever-out deigns.
The pin puller on the end of upper lever stabs the heel of my hand. It will stab the palm on people with larger hands.
The spring is very strong, and requires some strength to open capo. The design itself does not provide any mechanical advantage, making operation more difficult. It is actually easier (read LESS PAINFULL) to open capo if you hold it backwards.... I put it on guitar, but I did not play it. I have absolutely no intention of EVER using this ... capo.
