Thanks for adding the Guild brand board, FG! My first electric guitar (which I still have) was a Guild Starfire V (1964 model) that my parents bought for me, waaaaay back when I was 13 or 14. I played it in bands for decades... and the scratches and buckle rash and wear marks on her show it! I also have (purchased from a certain Floridian) a Guild GAD F212 12-string (2011 model). Good guitars!
Just got a barely used D-55 Prototype from 2008, a month or so ago. It's one that was built at New Hartford, when they were getting up to speed building Guilds. I have a few other Guilds too. The guys at LetsTalkGuild are very good enablers !
One of the nicest 12-strings I've played was a Guild; not sure of the model. I will not likely ever own a Guild, but would love to have a 12-string.
-1962 Martin D-21 -1950 Gibson LG1 -1958 Goya M-26 -1974 Yamaha FG75 high strung -A number of banjos, mandolins, Autoharps, ukuleles, dulcimers, mouth harps, a Tele clone and various other stuff. -I own a fiddle, but only play it when Maggie and the cats are all out of the house.
phjim ,like you, I never owned a 12-string until about a month ago, when FloridaGull, our esteemed administrator, decided to sell his Guild GAD F212, and it flew northward to me. I've fallen in love with it: the sound, the feel, everything. There are some songs that just need the shimmer and fullness that a 12-string brings. From reviews I've read here and there, the Guild 12-strings are very well-regarded.
