I also love the intro to "Everybody Wants to Rule the World" by Tears for Fears.

For me, I guess the most "iconic" intro/s that stick out in my mind as instantly recognizable by like the 2nd note and then as a whole are so unique are as mentioned, "Wish You Were Here" and probably the king of all intros the beginning of "Wanted Dead or Alive" by Bon Jovi. Always loved Richie Samboras guitar playing and techniques.

AC/DC - Back in Black
AC/DC - For Those About to Rock
Dire Straits - Sultans of Swing
Dire Straits - Money for Nothing
America - Sister Golden Hair (my twelve string infatuation)

And I've always been amazed when radio stations run a contest to name the 10 or whatever songs in a montage of snippets a second or less long, sometimes just a guitar chord or short riff, a piano arpeggio or even a couple of drum beats. Amazing what the human mind can contain/maintain/remember.

Oh man! Sultans of Swing and Sister Golden Hair! 2 of my all time favs as well. Sister Golden Hair is actually in my song book, although I don't believe I do it justice.

Ya.....one day. For now, we just dreeeeeeeeeam of having a 12 string. We have to use only 6 strings and play the song twice!
