I like hiking, especially on the Waterfront Trail between the north shore of Lake Ontario and the A K Sculthorpe Marsh in Port Hope. I always take a cell phone to use as a camera, since my SLR is too bulky. I love photographing the changes in the trail and the wildlife. I am one of the few hikers who doesn't have either a dog or a pair of binoculars around my neck. Since I try to get down there as often as possible, winter and summer, I often run into other regulars. I used to run into Claire and Farley Mowat walking their big black Newfoundland dog on the trail.
I am not a birder, but the birders I do meet are always willing to share their knowledge when I see an unfamiliar bird.
