? I wish I hadn't seen this!! I've thought about doing this. The only part that's a bit of a mystery to me is how to take the back off cleanly and put it back on so it looks like nothing has been done??

I WILL be doing it!!

I sent him an email asking for more detail, and what models he typically rebuilds. He mention in the article the Harmony "Figure 8" hodels, from the 30's, 40's & early 50's. Those are not the typical throw away Harmony's you see on CraigsList. They're a few hundred dollars.

I think the key is to find the all solid wood models. I'm hoping he gets back to me.

I found a Harmony Sovereign H1260 on CraigsList, half hour away. He wanted $150, offered $100, he countered $120. My only problem is sneaking out of the house for an hour or so without the wife knowing.

I'm hoping she will go back to just being fixated on the TV and ignore everything. We've been busy putting the kitchen back together after putting a new floor in last weekend. She's plenty angry, even more than usual.

Aaaaand... now we're clipping birds. Mostly nails, one beak, one set of wings.
