My very first guitar was an Acoustic Guitar, the make was Martin Colletti. In the year of 1962, surprising how you can remember your first anything.
I remember the first anything yet I forget Many things like how I built my strat necks , last one was 2006 . I can't remember all the guitars I've owned or what year. I do recall the 1st guitar was a rental steel string folk made by Framus with a slotted peg head and the pain of the finger blisters. It was 1962 I had a clarinet which was not my choice. I wanted a Cello. Once I realized what the tiny music stand that resided in the case was for , marching band music for the school foot ball team and a guitar was now popular more than ever and had strings and you could play more than one note at a time I soon traded the clarinet in for a down payment on the Harmony Rocket the rest was spending my three month school off time building our second house with my father and we never really got along. It cost $159.
I did learn wood working from him . Not building guitars yet there were always wood and old hand me down tools I could use.
My very first guitar was a Yamaha FG-410. I have fond memories of that thing. I wish I had known about how to take care of acoustics back then. I wonder what it would have sounded like today if it were still around.
===================================== One Alvarez in the hand is worth two Taylors and a Martin in the guitar store!
