2007 Seagull Performer dreadnought (rare!) $500 + shipping (continental US only)
This Seagull Performer was built in 2007 and purchased used by me in 2012—my son was working at a local music store and this was a trade in; he called me immediately, knowing I'd be interested. The guitar has a solid cedar top, wild cherry laminate back and sides, and a gloss finish on the body. The built-in pick-up system is the QII system with both an undersaddle transducer and an internal microphone. Like most Seagulls, it has a 1.8” nut width
If you’re familiar with Seagull’s flagship S6 models, well, this is essentially an S6 on steroids and is nothing like the current line of Seagull Performers. You can’t buy this configuration new for any cost. The current Performers have a solid sitka spruce top and maple laminate back and sides, and come with the Q1 system which only has the undersaddle ribbon transducer. In my personal opinion, this Performer kicks the new Performers’ butts sonically. This was my acoustic gig guitar until I picked up my Artist Studio in 2015, after which the Performer became my ‘office guitar’ that I’d grab when I wanted to work out a tune.
Why am I calling this guitar “rare”? This configuration of the Performer was only made from 2006 - 2008, after which Seagull switched to the current Performer model. Thus, these are difficult-to-impossible to find for sale. The only one I’ve seen recently was two years back on Reverb.com (https://reverb.com/item/4070959-seagull-performer-cw-gt-qii-nos); it was offered at $599 plus shipping and was B-stock, according to the Slightly Touched Guitars ad I’ve given you in the URL.
This one comes with a hardshell “Tour Grade” case, not the foam TRIC case that you usually find with Seagulls. The case has a couple scrapes on the top but is otherwise fine. (When I bought this it didn’t have a case at all.) The guitar has not been kept out on a stand; it lives in its case until I take it out to play it and I’ve kept humidity packs in there with it. There are a few dings, pick scrapes, and marks (hey, it’s 12 years old and has been played by me and, I assume, its previous owner) but overall it’s in good shape. None of the dings are serious; you can see a couple in the photos. I’ll throw in a Seagull logo strap and a capo as well. There’s an aftermarket top strap button installed on the heel. I’ve always strung it with “custom light” strings (.11 on the high E), either D’Addarios or Ernie Ball Aluminum Bronze, with a couple exceptions.
Message me for additional pics or information. I'm offering it here before I try Craiglist, EBay, or some other venue. I suppose I really should have dusted and polished the guitar before taking the pics, but hey, I didn't...
