The Classical Gas vid also made me look up the Tommy Emmanual version, which I thought was his original, only to go down the rabbit hole and find the original guy, (Mason Williams) doing it with various people (a harpist, an orchestra, etc). I always thought the song sounded familiar, now I know why.

I'm sure I heard the original as a youngster, but never remembered it enough to put it together when I heard Tommy's version. I think I like the original best actually. It's very nice and "flowing" if that makes any sense.
