Found a super long email newsletter on my phone this morning.
I immediately unsubscribed and marked it as spam. The lack of respect shown to ex-members means they have probably also sold their membership list to marketing firms.
I am not pleased.

RobertW -- After I read your post, I checked my email, and yep, there was a newsletter from Acoustic Guitar Magazine in my junk folder. Evidently my spam filters had already tagged it. I'll leave it tagged.

I expect that you're also correct that the AG mag folks are likely mining the email addresses we all gave them and selling the list...

Of course, they would have a hard time getting through all the emails asking for political contributions.

One email did promise I could be a psychologist in less time than I think. I suppose it takes a psychologist to know how much time I think it takes.

And they didn't say I would earn a degree, just that I could be "a psychologist".

Got the email too. When I clicked unsubscribe, it takes me to a page where it tells me to "use the following form to unsubscribe." Problem is, there's nothing on the form. It's blank for me.

So I had to actually make a filter so that any future emails from them will get thrown right in the trash. How annoying.
