My second guitar, bought in the early sixties, was a 1958 J-50. It now belongs to my brother Bob and is a great guitar. In the mid-seventies it had the adjustable bridge replaced with a fixed bone bridge - a big improvement. It has recently had a re-fret and the buttons on the Kluson tuners deteriorated and had to be replaced.
In 1967, I bought a used ES-175, which I sold about 1972 in order to buy a good acoustic.
The only Gibson I own at present is a 1950 LG1. A great little guitar which is my first non-dreadnought size flat top. It is equipped with a Baggs element pickup.
-1962 Martin D-21 -1950 Gibson LG1 -1958 Goya M-26 -1974 Yamaha FG75 high strung -A number of banjos, mandolins, Autoharps, ukuleles, dulcimers, mouth harps, a Tele clone and various other stuff. -I own a fiddle, but only play it when Maggie and the cats are all out of the house.
Over the years I think I've had most of the well known guitar makes, but I haven't had a Gibson guitar, it's a make of guitar I would like, and have always promised myself to get one, maybe one day, but they are very pricey overhear in little old England.
