Differences between original 2004-5 Seagull A12 and the new Godin 2020 A12

one is a Seagull, the other a Godin:
different headstock shapes, different electronics, different guitar lines, different neck tonewoods, different fretboards.

The Seagulls A6 and A12 came in two models, Maple or mahogany neck on cedar top/maple body.
body
Seagull was a carved maple body.
The Godin has Basswood wings glued on a maple center block.

fretboard
Rosewood fingerboard on the Seagull, MICARTA on the Godin.

EPM electronics on the Seagulls, TBC (?) on the Godin.

I'm a little surprised at Godin with this one. I don't know if it's just the way they chose to record it, but this guitar does not sound very nice. Boomy, yet thin sounding and kinda muffled.

I had the Godin A6 Ultra and that was an amazing guitar. I'm still thinking of getting it again some day to be my electric again. But this A12, not grabbing me at all.

I'd agree with TonyKgull on the sound in the video, but since we're obviously hearing the sound 'plugged-in', the overloaded bottom end and thin sound of the top strings could be largely (or even entirely) the fault of the EQ settings used. I'd have to hear it in person through an amp and fool with the settings myself. But no, as presented it's not all impressive to me
