Completely off-topic (although this thread has me wanting to pull out my 12-string for some playtime this coming weekend,) FloridaGull, your avatar makes me think your instruments are just hanging out on the couch watching a football game or something. Always amuses me.
How do you think they learn the music? They sit in front of Pink Floyd and James Taylor and Tommy Emmanuel DVD's all day...
Wait - am I supposed to play THEM?

No word of a lie, I used to leave my guitar in front of the TV all the time to help it sound better. I swear, it really worked too! But, that was back when I had a nice old-school rear projection big screen with an actual stereo system built into it (by stereo system I mean complete with big, nice sized 8" woofers in there with mid range and tweeters. High quality and great volume).
Present TV has speakers that are oval and maybe 4" wide at their widest point, probably 1" to 1.5" at their thinnest. I just play my guitars now. lol.

===================================== One Alvarez in the hand is worth two Taylors and a Martin in the guitar store!
we stil have our old Sony Wega 36" CRT with sound piped through our 20+ years old Pioneer Rack system (amp, EQ, turntable, FM tuner and...cassette deck!) with floor standing 3-way speakers with 12" woofers.. I never listen to it for music anymore...
