There's a tonal difference between Sitka and Red Spruce, where Adi is generally brighter and crisper (and maybe a little more complex). Perhaps you hear this between your E10D and E8D, aside from the obvious swirly Rosewood vs. fundamental Mahogany differences.
There's a distinct tonal difference between my E8D and my E10D (and I like them both), but honestly I can't tell if the difference is due to the respective Sitka vs. Adi tops, or the Rosewood vs. Mahogany back and sides. I suspect it's more the latter, though.
I do find mahogany visually more attractive than rosewood, but that has nothing to do with the sonics.
Agreed that Mahogany is better looking than Rosewood, but I mostly prefer the swirly overtones of Rosewood (which also masks my sloppy playing, LOL).
Pura Vida congrats - Looks like an amazing guitar and pretty sure it sound like one too. Enjoy spending time with it.
Thank you, El Gull! I am so pleased with the different color vs. my other Mahogany guitars. Every instrument is different -- and not only the sound, it's in the wood, construction, and so many other factors. That's what makes acoustic guitars so interesting to me!
