I owned an Alvarez I bought from one of the guitar players in the band, and which my daughter claimed and now owns. Alvarez has made some nice guitars over the decades, and the one on Reverb looks interesting (though I'm far more partial to dreads and OMs.)
FloridaGull, That second one, the folk, was one of the first Alvarez guitars I tried at a guitar shop that I don't normally go to (was just killing time, window shopping while the wife was doing something).
That little thing blew me away and was the catalyst for me trying more Alvarez guitars and eventually getting rid of all my Godin stuff and replacing them with Alvarez guitars (I have 3 of them now).
Fantastic little thing. One of my Alvarez guitars is a similar folk that has received amazing comments from people who know nothing about guitars about how good it sounds, especially when I play it side by side with others who also have folks.
Alvarez puts a little bit of magic into all their guitars, at least all the ones I've tried.
===================================== One Alvarez in the hand is worth two Taylors and a Martin in the guitar store!

OK! After watching 3 or 4 of these "go away" (get sold) on Reverb - both the original, rosewood-backed Blues51/TSB and the walnut-backed Blues51W/TSB, and the e-variations (with LR Baggs Element VTC electronics), I found a "blemished" Blues51WE/TSB online at Guitar Center for $439.99! $549.99 was the lowest I could find for a non-blemished one, so I bought it! I have not seen the "blemish", but it can be returned.
Probably coming next week. This will be my first guitar with electronics where the battery will be inside the body - hope not too much of a pain in the ass...

Congratulations on the soon to be new Alvarez guitar, nice choice great guitars. Don't forget the photos and a nice review. And now the wait, I hate the wait, I'm like a kid when I want a new guitar I want it now.
This guitar is awesome! I don't know if it is the arched back vs. a flat back, but I seem to feel the vibration through the back more than with flatback guitars, and the projection and clarity of the sound are far better than one might expect from an instrument of this size.
Playability/Action are perfect for me. Still need to plug it in...
Of course, they don't make these anymore. Are arched backs more difficult/expensive to manufacture? 🤔
If you see a Blues51 of any type in a store, pick it up - I think you'll be pleasantly surprised! 🎶🎸
Congrats FloridaGull on your new Alvarez. I really like the way the demo man in the Alvarez video plays. I like the chords he chooses and his style of music. Honestly, I think that dude has helped sell a lot of Alvarez just because he captures the guitar's character so well.
