Curiosity got the best of me. Went back to the serial number with a better light and camera and found I did misread the digit for the year. It is a 6 not an 8.
CTGull did a fine job of corralling all the Seagull serial numbers and telling everyone how to decipher them. You can find that information in the board "Guitars By Brand/Seagull Spoken Here! Also Fluent in Godin.../Seagull Serial Numbers." But I'll also paste it here for you. If you can see and read all the serial numbers on your label, you may be able to figure out the build year exactly.
**********
4 and 5 digit serial numbers are stamped on the label.
YEAR START END TOTAL
1982-1985 0001 8940 8940
1986 8941 10251 1311
1987 10252 14386 4135
1988 14387 17893 3507
1989 17894 23893 6000
1990 23894 33151 9258
1991 33152 46661 13510
1992 46662 61323 14662
1993 61324 ? ? ?
7 digit serial numbers:
• Started in early 1993, with a transition period.
• The serial numbers are stamped on the back of the headstock.
• Same system as 8 digits but without the first decade digit.
• 4133066 = Wednesday, 5th week of October 1993, 66th instrument made = 10/27/1993.
8 digit serial numbers:
• Transition from 7 digit to 8 digit in 1995.
• Serial numbers stamped on the back of the headstock.
• The first 2 digits are the fiscal year, which begins August 1 the previous year.
• The next 2 digits are the week of the fiscal year. Week 1 thru 22 will be in the previous year than the first 2 digits indicate.
• The fifth digit is the day of the week, starting on Monday.
• The last 3 digits are its number in the instruments made that week.
• 98113231 = Wednesday, second week of October 1997, 231st instrument made = 10/8/1997.
• 02361055 = Monday, first week of April 2002, 55th instrument made = 4/1/2002.
• 05163151 = Wednesday, 3rd week of November 2004, 151st instrument made = 11/14/2004.
• 01114564 = Thursday, 2nd week of October 2000, 564th instrument made = 10/12/2000.
12 digit serial numbers:
• Changed to 12 digits in late 2007 (2008 models).
• Serial numbers are on the label.
• Provides no information on the production date.
• Some "transition" guitars from late 2007/early 2008 have two different serial numbers. One stamped behind the headstock (8 digits) and one printed on the label (12 digits).
Example for 029396009540:
• The first 6 digits are the product code. 029396 = S6 Original without electronics.
• The 7th digit is either a 0 or a 9 (9 would be a factory second).
• The last 5 digits is the number of your guitar since they switched to 12 digit serial numbers in late 2007. 09540 would be the 9540th S6 Original without electronics since late 2007.

So from that and your serial number, can you tell what year your Cedar GT was built? If you can, then you can use the Internet Wayback Machine to go to the Seagull webpage for that year and get the true specs...
