What a disappointment. Waiting for all these parts and tools. it was of course too much to hope they would arrive in the order I need them
so the Zinc/Brass Grover-clone tuning machines arrived today 18:1 instead of the cheap 14:1 that were installed. But I wanted to do resonator nut at same time, it's binding.. file wont arrive till next month.
Problem: the hole in tuning peg is too low. It will be behind bushing
It is 15mm from the base of the machine. On the Grover the string hole is about 23mm from the base. I could drill new hole on my press, but 6 brass holes + 12 chamfers is much work for possibly little returns' I might as well buy Grover 18:1's, but they are all chrome ,,yeeech Measurements don't match drawings in some cases. A few are tight and wehn you loose gerar screw, the peg wobbles.. I expected better quality that this. ;(

i'm changing from the Cheap 14:1 stamped metal Grover open tuners. I wanted the diecast 1:18 Grover open tuners. But at this point they seem to be difficult to find at reasonable prices. (ie they are not worth 80$) the tuners I ordered ranged in price from 15 to 40 depending on seller. I expected cheap.
I am now investigating getting the same machines as I have on Amber, but they are not on Godin parts site. They do have some Art&Luthier 18:1 open tuners. $5 each. Michel in on vacation, I am waiting for more info on them.
