The "uncanny valley" of electric guiitars and amps

You may have seen articles describing the unsettling feelings - uncanny valley - that people feel
when interacting with a near human like image generated by an ai program/cgi image.It appears
almost human, but *just not quite natural*.

With regard to electric guitars and amps, I mean the weird sensation - uncanny valley like -
that I feel when hearing sound coming not from the instrument I'm holding, but from the amplifier
several feet away. It still doesn't feel natural to me compared to hearing an acoustic guitar's
sound emanating from the instrument itself.

It's nothing to do with the varied and sometimes unearthly sounds the electric guitar and amp can
generate. (In my case a modeling amp). I mean that it's great to be able to sound like B.B. King,
there's just something about the separation of sound from instrument that I don't like.

With regard to my digital piano, I don't have this uncanny valley sensation when playing it. Perhaps
it's because the placement of the speakers in the piano is such that the sound seems to emanate from
where you'd expect sound to come from an acoustic piano.

For the record I've got the amp usually set on "bluesy" sounds. It's fine, though to be honest there's
probably something which may be unholy about playing William Cowper hymns through it.

To summarize, the electric guitar has these main liabilities (to my ears):
