I have been looking at the 1/2 step tuning and I think I will put it back. I just play for me. and if it makes my singing sound better. I may not deafen the wildlife as bad. Thank you for the tip Derick
Thanks Floridagull. I was going to get the 12-53s will lighter strings put less stess on the neck and bridge. will they effect the sound? I would not think .001 would make that much difference.

Regarding your silk & steel question - 47 certainly won't hurt your guitar in any way. The string may be a bit loose in the nut, but it may not be a problem. And, research John Pearse Folk Fingerpicking Strings - an interesting hybrid one can put on classical or steel-stringed guitars - they are ball-end.
Great to hear all is good and you are enjoying the new guitar, don't get discouraged if the learning curve slows down, it's a long road but very enjoyable, and stay connected to the Cabin it's a part of the fun.
