8ntractor, I too am taking it up again, after years (literally) of on again, off again- I too want to learn "note" sounds at different locations on he fret board/string hence my wanting to learn finger picking which is why I started a thread on it. And, I'm about to post there again because something occurred to me I hadn't thought about.

Thank you I will look for it. I want to finger pick also. I am trying to learn the fretboard there are some really good tools for it on the web. It is going much faster than using the mel bay books from the library like when I was a kid.

I have also heard about snarks leaving a place in the finish. But I have not seen it myself. Mine will often stay attached for weeks at a time. But there may very well be some type of finish out there that would be effected. More than likely one I couldn't/wouldn't pay for.
I watch some learning stuff on youtube, it is easy for me to loose focus. I would love to see a real life instructor, but logistics have never worked out for me.
This year our monthly gig at the nursing home was stopped. So my practice has really suffered. I hope we can get back in the nursing home soon, but I'm afraid with the cold and flu season just around the corner, they are not going to take any chances...
Normally I can find more time in the winter to practice.
I was just working on a couple of songs to finger pick when this all hit. I need to get back on that.
