thisoldman , Is this a conventional looking bridge? Like there are six holes, each holding a pin? So those pins (these special ones) fit the holes, but are unlike other pins because they are too skinny, too thin?
A picture of your bridge would be very helpful here, but rather than try to get pins to fit the bridge, why not enlarge the diamter of the holes to make them fit some standard bridge pins? (e.g. 2A)?
To clarify:
Looking down at the top of the guitar, you see the bridge, it sits on the top of the guitar. Inside the guitar is the bridge plate, directly below the bridge. So it is a sandwich, with the top glued in between the bridge and the bridge plate. The pin holes are drilled through the bridge, the top, and the bridge plate.
I’m sorry. We’re hijacking this thread (though where it is going is interesting)... thisoldman , maybe you should start another about your need to replace the bridge pins - ?

Is this your guitar?
Yes that is my guitar except mine is charcoal- I just did a quick search and ran across this
and this- the first post is indicative of Ibanez customer service and does a good job describing the pins
the first post;
While starting a string change on my 2 year-old Ibanez AC240, one of the bridge pins broke. I pulled the plastic head right off the shaft.
Tried to contact Ibanez through warranty (no replay to the emails) but I finally contacted someone by phone. Turns-out that these pins aren't available through Ibanez's website (they're not even listed as an available part)) and they had to send me one that a tech found in his stash. I'm awaiting that pin.
So I thought I'd simply replace them with something better than plastic -- maybe ebony. Lo and behold I cannot find bridge pins with these specs anywhere: NO TAPER! That's right, not a 3 degree taper, not a 5 degree taper, but a 0 degree taper. It's a straight, untapered pin. They're about 1.2 in long overall with a slot through the skirt. The distance from the tip to the skirt is just under an inch. They've got a bevel at the tip. But the shaft along the entire pin is anywhere between .1925 to .1945 inches in diameter depending on which pin is being measured.
Nearly all pins I've been able to find have a taper and have shaft diameters starting at just over .2 inches in width -- wider than this Ibanez pin.
How should I approach this? Do I need to make new pins from scratch or modify some by hand? Does this require a luthier-changes-the-holes-to-accommodate-standard-pins solution?
Meanwhile, this guitar is dead in the water.
Thanks up front. This took me by surprise and not pleasantly. Makes no sense that these are one-off AND not available.
