Yeah, another guitar. I was great, no guitars for nearly 6 months, then a couple of "rescues", and it's gone downhill from there.
I found it on eBay for only $135!! A beat up FG-110 with go for more than that on Shopgoodwill!! I am very fortunate that it found me!!
This is the rare tan "Taiwan-no-Taiwan" label that they only used for 2 months, after the Red label. And this one is even rarer. Out of 36 serial numbers I've found with this label, this is only the 4th FG-110, and they are all in the last 10 days this label was used. AND, it's minty. It has no strings on it, but came with a pack of strings supplied. The ad said it was an estate find with a few other guitars.
It arrived on 9/24/20. Packed well. Minty, only a few minor marks on the back & sides, hardly any pick scratches, 98% mint top. The top is bookmatched, there are a few defects in the wood that is mirrored on both sides. The bridge pins all stick out 1/8" too far. No visible fret wear and the frets are full height, but there is wear to the fretboard in the 1st position. ODD. WITH NO STRINGS the neck projects 3/16" below the bridge with a .04" gap in the middle, and the action is 1/8" (checked with straightedge). The bridge is .31" thick, with the saddle barely sticking out .04". Someone must have bought the strings, paid for a setup, and realized it wouldn't be playable and put it back in the case.
It'll be a while until I get to the neck reset for this guitar. I just finished (4) customer's neck resets, with at least (2) more coming in the next week. And some personal projects I'd like to get to first.
The fist of the minty pictures.
Minty frets but wear to the fretboard. Lots of basic open chords. How do you wear the fretboard like that but not wear the frets??
MORE MINTY PICS!!
Minty tuners!
The saddle barely peaking out.
It's even very clean inside!!
The bookmatched defect in the top.
