Big Lou Wide Nut Electric Guitars...

Great idea for people with big hands.

For me though, Seagull showed me that anything 1.8" or bigger is just too big. 
I love my 1.75" nut width, that's the "Goldilocks" zone for me.  1 7/8" and bigger, whew, that's pretty darn big.

I seem to be ok with the smaller nut width on electrics if I'm just doing lead stuff.  It's mostly all the other "acoustic" rhythm, flat picking, and finger-style stuff that I need my 1.75" for.

I wouldn't know, I think this is an early prototype, 5-10 years old.

They must be made in China to his specs.

Well, I can't comment on pushing the 1st string off the fretboard.  That's probably a technique thing one would have to work on.  That's not something I've encountered on any sized fret board width. 

But a 1.8" nut width makes a wider neck overall.  With that width, it's juuuuuust a bit too big for certain things for me.  Just one example, a bunch of chords I play the bass note on the 6th string with my thumb wrapped around, it's just easier; (D/F# for example) and that's just too awkward once the neck is 1.8" or beyond.  I guess my hands are just not big enough.

String spacing is slightly different on many guitars.  I wasn't really talking about that.  When I say nut width, I mean neck width as well.  I probably should have specified that.  Ooops.

I beg to differ, We WERE talking about specific 1.8 guitars, Seagulls as you mentioned.

So Seagull went 1.8 just FOR ME???
and when i stopped buying seagull they stopped doign 1.8?

i feel very guilty.
