Ran across this just a bit ago

I was reading the comments to the Saving Country Music article this morning and there were a couple comments on the current value of the instruments - one of them put it quite well; Guitars are meant to make music, not be worshipped.

He was lamenting how collectors ruin everything-

Ironically another message board I read, but don't participate in (called Hoseheads) is a website with Sprint Car fans. This morning there is a comment about a couple of die cast models and some licensing controversy when they were issued which made production stop- a responder allowed as how he had a special edition (don't remember what it was) that he couldn't even get what he paid for it originally- it so happens I have a fairly good collection of die cast race cars from Sprint to Indy to Drag Racing and quite a bit of other racing paraphernalia so the lack of value is a bit disheartening - except I didn't buy them as an investment. When I was collecting them I explained to my youngest son the difference between value and worth- and he remembers it to this day, surprisingly, since Daddy listening wasn't one of his strong suits
