I have had that pick-up system before and liked it.

Nice looking little guitars. But I don't think I'm hip enough to pull it off.

The scooter was a nice touch, wonder if they make a case for that application.
Guess that's part of it's "vintage city vibe".

Sorry Garland, I couldn't help it, that marketing was just a little over the top for me.

I think that might not be a bad shipped price.

I had the A&L Legacy Parlour Guitar, in indigo blue, I really liked that guitar, top rate quality, nice tone the main reason I traded it in was the string spacing at the nut was to narrow, I don't mind 1 11/16" nut width, but the string spacing was very narrow at the nut.
So if possible try before you buy.

Derick, The 1.72 nut is a bit less than 1.75 but I have several that are the 1 11/16 which is a bit less than the 1.72 advertised. The Blue one was what I wanted but they are harder to find, therefore more expensive since they come from Canada the shipping charges are also added

The cedar top and cherry laminate with open tuners is what intrigues me- I have til about 530 this afternoon to make up my mind- maybe I can get some Martin Monel strings to sweeten the pot

Just to recap, the nut width can be a little confusing, we all talk about the nut width but the important measurement is over the strings at the nut, both of the e strings can be set a bit far from the side of the fret board and can give a measurement over the strings at the nut of only just over 1 1/2" with a nut width of 1 11/16",
I've had guitars with the same measurement over the strings at the nut, even though one guitar had 1 3/4" and the other 1 11/16" nut width.

Garland , I'm not the biggest fan of Godin acoustics anymore, but to be fair to them, it's important to know that they do not make any acoustics that I know of that have less than a 1.72" nut width.

1 11/16" is technically a 1.69" nut width. The difference between that and 1.72" is pretty huge to me and Godin's string spacing on their guitars I've always found to be quite good (meaning not too narrow).

Again, I don't believe to this day Godin has ever made an acoustic with a nut width of less than 1.72". It's kinda one of their signature things that they do. That may help if that's important to you and you can not try-before-you-buy.

bad QC near as I can tell. A brace isn't glued in the middle at the sound hole too-

I've been in communication with the shipper and they want pictures, of course, of the box too- they want it to be a shipping problem- it ain't.

Sorry to hear about the faulty A&L guitar, it does surprise me the quality of their guitars are normally excellent and surprised Sweetwater didn't check it out better before sending out.
I've wanted a Seagull Concert Hall since the day they came out (think they look very similar to your damaged guitar) but to date never even seen one.
That's the main reason I won't buy guitars of the Internet, I'd be very disappointed if a guitar arrived damaged, but happens to often.

It didn't come from Sweetwater- it came from Musicmakers LLC in Illinois- this is the 7th guitar I've bought on line and 2 have been bad- not a terrible average

but, frustrating since I had been really looking forward to it-

Even for Godin, that's amazing. I've never even picked up a guitar to look at that was that bad. I wonder what's going on there to let something like that slip through?

Back in the day, even their factory seconds were stellar, at least in the top two tiers of models being the Maritimes and Artists.

Garland, Ya, well, I chalk it up to: that's just part of life. Nobody's perfect. Whether it's cars, guitars, shirts or pants etc, every company, now and then, is gonna let something slip through quality control because....ya.....nobody's perfect.

At least you got your refund, so that's a good thing.

I've seen some real horror stories of people who've purchased very expensive items, specifically cars, a Jeep and some GM vehicle, (and other examples too actually) where the vehicles were obvious lemons right off the bat that did not, and should not have made it through quality control in a million years. (Cuz we're dealing with vehicles here where you safety and even your life could be affected by bad quality) They could not get their refunds and went through literal nightmares trying to be "made whole" again.

So, thankfully, you didn't have to experience that at least.
