After putting the Ernie Ball strings on the Red Rocket, I played it quite a bit- meh- then I played with the Mitchell 0130 with Martin Monel's- not bad for a really cheap guitar - then, I made a big mistake.

I picked up the Luna Folk Body- a couple weeks ago I put some La Bella silk and steel 11-51's on it

Good lord! I couldn't put it down for 3 hours!

So, I did the only prudent thing I could do.

ordered 2 sets of La Bella silk and steel from Sweetwater

If they make the Red Rocket as happy as they did the Luna - look out Martin- since I ordered 2 sets I may try them on the 00015M- I may even pop for some for the 00017 since I've not really been impressed with it-

Garland , Correct me if I'm remembering wrong, but didn't you say the volume on the Red Rocket was not quite there like with the rest of your guitars and that you were a little frustrated with that?

If so, then I don't think you'd like silk and steel on the Red Rocket. They will provide even less volume. But I'm not sure what you're going for so I'm not saying "don't try it."

Just thought I'd throw that out there though as something to consider before possibly wasting a set of strings that you like.

Try La Bella- the Luna, is a cheap guitar, solid spruce top and laminate mahogany, but man, those strings sure sounded good on it.

You're absolutely correct- but, if it's going to be not very loud, I want it to be that way providing me with somethin I like to hear- I've thought about what you're sayin, but, I want to hear what they sound like on it-

Garland, Yup. Fair enough. I've had a set of silk and steel lying around here for years and years. Keep meaning to give them a try myself but never seem to get around to it.

It's been so long, I don't even know if I know where those strings are anymore. Gonna have to take a looksee around and see if I can find them again. lol.
