If you could only play chords which three would you choose?

The way I play and write, I could never limit myself to 3.  Even when I was first learning guitar, 3 chords just felt incomplete, I'd need 4 minimum.
So my four would be G, C, D, Em........um....and maybe Am......and well, might as well go with Bm too.  Darn it all, I need all 7 so throw in a D/F# too.  Bah! Call me weak, but I can't live without them all.   

Ok, but if I absolutely HAD to, I could limit myself to just G, C, D, and Em, but it'd be tough.  I don't think I could do just 3 though, not for more than a few songs. 

Ok, ok, ok....so you're laughing at me right?  Well how bout you pick just 3 of your guitars you could keep?  Ahuh!?  HA!  See!  Ain't so easy is it??!!       

I find open A and the barre variations to be difficult to hit. I can't always get all 3 fingers crammed it there. I've tried the double barre version but that's even harder to keep from muting strings. I do like 5th string minor and minor 7th chords.
