The site is organized really well (at least for me) without a ton of sub-categories. I enjoy the members here and the conversations, but it's really difficult to navigate through the layers. I miss a ton of content, if I don't catch it on the right side of the home page.
There are a ton of categories here, but the most popular ones are at the top. I think.
We could put what we think are the most popular categories in the first group.
I don't look at the main page. The first thing I do is (on the top of the right hand column) click on "List of recent threads" under QUICK NAVIGATION. To me, that is the most useful page.
If it's possible, would it be useful to make that page come up when someone goes to the main address of the forum?? Since this is generally a small group of people, I think that would be the best way to quickly see what's going on here.
I think it's pretty well organized the way it is. Maybe something could be done to draw more attention to the Quick Navigation panel, (like a different color for the header back, bigger font than the rest, I dunno) but other than that, it's a pretty darn easy and seamless forum to navigate.
Also keep in mind that new members or viewers might want to see some extra stuff in the Quick Navigation, so that would probably be cool, I dunno, you'd have to take a poll to be sure, but be careful. If you add too much stuff to the Quick Nav panel, it might just cease to be a Quick Nav panel. LOL.
