Guitar case humidification, easy and cheap!

RobertW,  you have to remember that everybody is different.  What might feel to hot and humid for you or me will be perfect for others.  Then there's always those people who can still feel comfortable walking around in shorts in the late fall while the rest of us are already breaking out coats and hats.

So you can't go by how it "feels" to you.

I don't get so into it that I check my one and only hygrometer religiously ( I don't even know how accurate it is, it's just there to give me a general idea ).  I just check my sponges each week and I get a good enough idea by how dry they are at the end of each week ( usually check them on the weekend ).

My main hygrometers are: how dry does my skin feel and are my guitars going even a little flat.  lol.  If either is the case, I know it's time for some more moisture in the air.    Bin workin' for me so far.

Yet..
My Dehumidifier has be running this week but not this morning. I see room humidity has dropped to avg of 42% across the 4 meters surrounding guitar rack..
The Humidifier is sitting outside the room loaded and ready to be moved in and turned on.

I've tried last year having both running in the room during this weird switch-over time.. They of course fight each other. The De-humidfier will turn the humidifiers evaporation filter bone dry. Almost good for a Toy Story plot! I'll give it another day before switching machines

Didn't see it in the thread, so I'll add some info from my guitar tech. If convenient, keep guitars upstairs in summer and in the basement in winter. Makes sense.

stillhave started the humidifiers.. and I havn't heard the de-'s run for a couple days now.

RH is holding around 46%. WE just need for temp to stop being wishy-washy and drop below and stay below to start drying the air.
