A while back our Mom & Pop guitar store was bought out by L&M and the owner had a yard sale of the things that L&M weren't interested in buying. I picked up a tiple, made by the Regal Company in Chicago. It's about the size of a concert ukulele, but with ten steel strings arranged in four courses and mine is tuned gG-cCc-eEe-AA and played using the same chord shapes as a uke.
Here's the tiple beside a concert uke to show the size.
