I'm still pondering my options in my search for the perfect Seagull! 
Living in Key West, I have absolutely no way of trying one out unless I make the four-hour drive to Miami, which just isn't going to be convenient anytime soon. We're all still too busy dealing with the aftermath of Hurricane Irma (and evacuating for two weeks!) to deal with another road trip. That's one reason why I'm depending on this awesome forum for some answers.
My biggest concern is the nut width/string spacing. My hands are extremely small--my middle finger isn't even 3". I've been a professional pianist all my life (and recent harpist and accordionist), so I know how to stretch--but I once owned a classical guitar and I recall the sheer misery of trying to chord the thing.
However, I also want to learn fingerpicking so that I can play both styles (strumming and fingerpicking). I've read SO many posts on this and other forums from players who vastly prefer the wider nut.
My questions are:
1) Is the Seagull string spacing the same as a standard acoustic, even with the wider nut?
2) In your honest opinions, do you think that chording on the wider nut models will be more difficult for someone with tiny, tiny hands and short, short fingers? Even with a good stretch, there's only so much you can do with short fingers--and yes, I DO see those child prodigies on You Tube, but I'm past my child prodigy years!
