EDIT: this review will be superseded with much more in depth one, using 3 different guitars. Too many negative issues were caused not by the device but by the very stiff Aluminum Bronze strings.\
The new review is in progress and will feature 3 guitars with very different headstocks.
Some of you will recall the Timara String Drop that I purchased May 2017. I had bought it to use on my Amber Trail but it's design requires bolt-on tuners, so I ended up putting it on my Martin, with a bit of swearing.
Today I found The Pitch Key with a much different design that is tuner-mounting agnostic. I read how to install and calibrate it and decided this might be a perfect but belated valentine jewelry for Amber.
It cost 33$USD (43.09CAD) which didn't scare me off. Cheaper than the String-Drop! So I ordered it. (Paypal)
It does not require loosening a tuner's bolts, it does not even touch the headstock!
h
This was obviously designed by an engineer, while the String Drop seems to have been thrown together by a hacker trying to adapt a woodworker's toggle clamp to a guitar
My only issue is the tiny 1.5mm hex key. So easy to lose the tiny ones.
Of course I'll go on and on about it when it arrives.
