again. I was wantin to use the Red Rocket this Friday, but the fret buzz is too noticeable plugged in.
So, I've been practicin with my Black Lag and got it dialed in pretty good with the Fishman Mini Loud Box...
so, I'll be using it.
However... the dreaded NGD has been nibblin at me- I started lookin at dread....naughts - see what I did there
Yeah, me, the concert body advocate is lookin around.... ..... guess what struck me fancy?
Built with a solid spruce top, mahogany sides, and arched mahogany back, the full-bodied and powerful tone of this Guild dreadnought provides guitarists with a classic acoustic sound and balanced voicing. Guild’s signature arched back design allows for great volume and projection, long sustain, and a lush, full sound. The D-240E features Guild’s Fishman-designed AP-1 electronics, a pau ferro fingerboard and bridge, bone nut and saddle, mother-of-pearl rosette, period-correct tortoiseshell pickguard, and a matte polyurethane finish. Available in Natural.
MSRP: $595
A couple of reasons. First, no one had one at the open mic session... and I am a fan of the unusual.
The archback is an aspect that intrigues me, and.... it has open tuners! Woo-hoo!
AND, and, and, Sweetwater sells it for $429.... but, it is on back order, so I'm safe there
I suspect I can get it for less than advertised by Sweetwater and get a Guild gig bag to go with it and be less than the MSRP with Uncle Sham getting his confiscatory sticky fingers in the pie.
Now, I know I was leanin toward an LR Baggs, Lyric, pickup for me Orangewood, and I haven't totally thrown that idea away... but, dreadnaught for performin, right?!
I see the marketing write up claims a lush, full sound.... I bet Martin Monel strings will tame that a bit
