 Yes, I think that's the whole point.
Electric guitar manufacturers say the tone of the guitar is because of the body material, neck material, and the list go's on, but I think the guy in the vidio has proven all their comments to be incorrect. 

Can you do better? I'm all eyes/ears.

i stopped watching when he realized he ignored pickup pole heights. A;so he seemed to be "testing' irrelevant things. I could not follow him.
re could I do better.? I would not even bother. THe answer is obvious.  It's all in the pickups.

super stressed out lately both cars in shop
wife alarm was goin off. she just got it back yesterday
mine i lost side mirror to a recycle bin in street last week
bring it in Monday morning. haven't be able to drive it for a week
because lack of side mirror is ticket and could be impounded if cop's a dick


at same time we are dealing with change of insurance company. Drugs cover with old one are not all cover with new one. They need a form filled out by doctor etc etc..

re pickups

back in the day i replaced the single coil neck pickup of my Tele with a cream double-coil humbucker by DiMarzio. Yes is changed the tone: From Twanky to Metal

I can't offer anything other than if I play my 3 strats I built years ago and not out of kits or factory bought necks and bodies. Unplugged each one sound different and most of this is the body wood. They are all 2 piece bodies. alder , swamp ash and mahogany. all Have single coil pick up's Fender Texas specials Mahogany body, Alder cheap Ibanez , Ash body Seymour Duncan . All have rock hard maple necks and rosewood boards and not Indian Rosewood . I was given a slab of Brazilian rosewood decades ago enough to make 8 finger boards.

Plugging in all sound different yet I will point out bone nut and each type of wood will present more or less sustain and a more mellow tone softer the wood and yes I did try swapping pickups and that did not alter anything.

Plus if you have a thin line like the 67  Epiphone casino P90's I had which are single coil the body will make much more difference. The deeper the body even makes a huge difference.

He said nothing about sustain. It's part of the mix.This guy has too much time on his hands. And I think SRV would not agree with this guy.
