First time I've seen that sport, very fast paced and exciting.
Reminds me a little of a sport I was very interested in years ago, motorcycle speedway but it was only 4 laps per race.

TonyKgull , they are purpose built. Engine is in front. 900+ horse power, 1425 lbs with driver after the race... methanol fuel.
The basic chassis design hasn't changed in over 40 years. Technology has come a long way in shock absorbers and engines though. The engines are aluminum blocks and heads set on near self destruction. They last about 100 laps, max, (10 nights,before having to be rebuilt.
The wings came about in the 70's and have not evolved, though the rules now stipulate 25sq ft (5x5) and have to be flat with a wicker bill (1 in)at the rear and the side boards are limited by the rules as well. They can be moved forward and aft by a hydraulic control in the cock pit. Moving then them back gives forward bite, moving them forward takes away forward bite.

They are capable of nearly 150mph... but track size and shape limit them to about 130 max...
They race on tracks from just under 1/4 mi to 1/2 mile, measured through the middle.


Derick , flat track motorcycles are probably their closest, other class racing relative... (except midgets, which are smaller)...
