My first attempt at embedding videos from YouTube (with time stamps ... and yes it worked ... videos will start only at the key points).
Some of you might have seen these videos of the pressure-testing process at the Godin factories.
The older method actually put a bit more of a bend into the top and you can see that they relied on a simple visual gauge. Depending on the degree of deflection, the top was accepted or rejected.
The new method uses a digital meter.
THEN
The tops were tested after they were cut to shape.
NOW
The tops were tested as book-matched blanks. I assume that allowed Godin to reject tops before more work was put into them.
