The $10 Chinese knock off is on the Natural Elements. The $30 Lutehole Maple is on the Martin HPL composite
The knock-off is thinner, made from 2 pieces of laminated softwood (same kind they use to make hobby boxes at the Dollar Store. There is no grain in top, it is an enamel paint. Much less foam is used for sealing.
I had to file it to fit because of the NE fingerboard extending into soundhole, of course; something i did not want to do with the 30$ Maple Lutehole, which I put on the Martin.
The scrollwork is very very rough. Does not look that nice up close
I might ask my wife to do some Tole Painting on it. but I'm afraid she may do rabbits and Santas... or portraits of Tony K...

Hm? Someone call my name? Oh! Hey, not bad idea guys! But I must warn you!
Any likenesses of myself emblazoned on any of your beloved instruments will drop the value of said instrument so down below the basement that if you ever want to sell said instrument, you'll have to PAY the buyer to take it! So...um....ya.
===================================== One Alvarez in the hand is worth two Taylors and a Martin in the guitar store!
