The String Cleaner.....it's a little flat folding rig with yellow knap material inside, that you open, put over your strings, close, and run up & down from bridge to nut.
I tried to find the thread where someone here suggested I get this, but could not locate it (perhaps NorCalgull?) But whoever it was, thanks - it works.
I bought this along with a cleaning fluid (still unopened) about two years ago, but just opened it up two weeks ago. The Nanoweb Elixirs on my 514 had not been on there that long, maybe three weeks, and were already sounding a little old.
The strings immediately improved upon using it, and went through a long sweaty evening one week ago playing at a party that went 4+ hours - the kind of session I've seen new strings not get past. And they still sound good this week as well. I should have opened that package a little sooner.....

RobertW , I also bought some Dunlop 65 at the same time as the Ultimate String Cleaning Tool, intending to apply that to the knap. Maybe I will at some point - might be soon. I noticed last night my rejuvenated strings were sounding a little like they need something, if not a change...I'll try the cleaner again, maybe with the Dunlop 65 applied.
