The ES 330 is a 59 and hollow and the ES 335 58 has a center black most likely the best electric guitar I've ever played .
Played Fender for years but now its just Gibsons electrics and Martin guitars for my acoustics .
Okay, consider me insanely jealous on those Gibson arch tops. I can think of many uses for both those guitars. I've got a Tele which I wouldnt trade for the world. But I think my next electric will be an Epi Casino, to get your ES330 kind of vibe. Look after those ladies g6120!!!
Even the basic Casino is a really outstanding instrument and once you get one you will wonder why you didn't get it sooner . They sound wonderful and all I've played were easy players . The ES 330 I have has a much thicker neck which I personally prefer and the ES 335 is even larger .
Yes, I have heard the Casino neck is quite thin. I have yet to play one, and so that may be a deal breaker as I have quite large hands.
I have seen someone replace the pickups in an es335 with Seymour Duncan Phat Cats, which is like a P90 in a Humbucker casing. That actually might be a good option as I prefer the P90, but that extra bit of wood in the middle would help with feedback issues and may produce a slightly thicker tone.
Tokai make a very good es335 clone, and so I may pull the trigger on one of those at some point in my life.
