Well I've found my perfect travel guitar and it's so much more! After years of wrongly assuming that I would never like an all Mahogany guitar I now own one and it's a stunner, both sound wise and cosmetically. I'm really glad I popped for the extra 100.00 dollars and took a chance on this guitar. It has the sweetest tone you can imagine and it isn't at all what I expected an all hog guitar would sound like. It does have all the warmth everyone talks about but at the same time it is not lacking for any brightness and it sustains forever. I always thought all hogs would sound muffled to my ears but not this one. What's really amazing is how much it's opened up in a day. I guess I shouldn't be surprised considering my experience with the Taylor 514CE LTD since it did the same thing. But this guitar has a much harder and more dense top wood. However it's a thinner top than any of my Taylors. The finish and setup is flawless with the exception of a stray drop of glue on one of the X braces, visible through the sound hole. I'll file that off at my first string change and forget about it. A very pleasant surprise is that it came with a very nice case! I thought it came without one but when I opened the box there it was, sitting in Alvarez's very nice looking, vintage style, cream color case. Unfortunately this guitar is going to make me wish all my guitars were short scale, it's just so damn comfortable to play. I'm attaching photos. This guitar is right up there visually with my 514CE LTD. I'd be hard pressed to say which one is prettier. A really nice touch is the tuner buttons are wood. I've never seen that on a guitar.
