Ok, so I had decided to replace my AG70cear's strings with Elixers cuz it came with D'Addario EXPs and I wanted to hear what something different sounded like on the guitar.
I go to my small stock of string sets and I notice a set of Veritas DR PB lights. Huh. Didn't remember having those. Didn't remember buying them either. Must've been on sale.
Anyways, put them on and just finished playing for about half an hour. Did some strumming, finger picking, and capo'd strumming, (and singing with most of the stuff).
You know what? These things sound kinda brilliant! They have this, I dunno how to describe it, almost like a bit of reverb or delay effect on them. They seem louder as well, much louder and very clear, each note very articulated. They sound quite beautiful as well with that PB coloring. I'm really kind of amazed.
Also, they are 12 - 54s. But when playing them, I had to grab the box again cuz I was thinking they were custom lights, (maybe I grabbed those by accident) but nope, they're just lights. They feel super easy to fret and bend though. It's weird, but they really feel like custom lights or one gauge down.
Anyhoo, I'm very impressed by them. They say their string cores make them last 4x longer than normal strings, (same claim basically as EXPs and Elixers). So, wrote today's date on the pack, put it in the guitar case and I'm gonna see just how long these things last. If they come anywhere close to Elixers or can at least match the EXPs, I may try a few more sets of these things.
......But.......lets see how long they last first.

I did not tune them up to full pitch that way, lol. But I was kind of surprised how well they held. I didn't think that was possible considering they're rounded, short cylinders. Thought for sure they'd slip off or let go. Anyways, put the pins in of course. But it just got me thinking; at this point, it occurred to me, that if the strings are seated properly, the pins are really, at least in part, just for decoration to cover up the holes. lol.
Love new strings on a guitar.
