Derick -- This was interesting to me as someone who used to be a Seagull proponent and who after playing an Eastman now owns two of them, and has already given away one of his Seagulls, sold one another, and may well sell the last. (Though my goodness, this guy just goes on forever before ever getting to the point, and it would be nice if he tuned the Taylor before playing it...)
But he's right—to my ear, all the Eastmans he played sounded far better than the much more expensive Taylor.
There's lots of talk in Eastman forums (and others) about the new Eastman/Dana Bourgeois partnership and what it might mean down the line.

Thx, Derick! I watched / listened to that video this afternoon. Taylors are great guitars, and I really like how they run their company. The Eastman Sapele at $599 sounds pretty close, and then the other two with Mahogany sound a little richer, IMHO. With the money saved, you can always install a great after-market pickup system.
